Types of Energy

It seems that all conversations around energy today always eventually turn to green energy and renewables. Wind and solar energy have been leveraged by some of the most well known utilities companies to diversify their energy offerings. Hydro-electric power has been around for centuries, but has also come back to the forefront as a key part of a well-rounded energy strategy. There are many reasons that renewable energy, a relatively new energy focus, has come to the forefront and is here to stay. Below are some of the many benefits of renewable energy to both consumers and the environment.

Renewable

Green means energy whose fuel source is renewable, meaning that it does not consume a resource of which we are likely to run out anytime soon. Harnessing wind, solar, or hydro energy can produce a large amount of energy to electrify homes without having to worry about finding more fuel or resources. Coal or gas powered energy, on the other hand, will always be a source that is in jeopardy of running out of fuel regardless of how much fuel there is, it cannot be renewed as quickly as it is being consumed. Therefore, renewable green energy sources have an added benefit.

No Emissions

Green energy is not only powered by renewable resources, but also has very low, if any, emissions of toxins into the environment. This type of energy is considered ‘green’ because it is good for the environment because of its low impact. Having low emissions is great for the atmosphere and can help to ensure that the earth will be around for generations to come, benefiting the consumers of such energy sources.

As you can see, this new type of energy that is green, renewable, and good for the environment and consumers for many reasons.
